When people go to films at movie theaters, they look at the projection rather than the blank screen. It's similar to the way people perceive me as, the Other (I'm out of place, I don't feel like I belong, I don't look like everyone else). So I decided to go out and photograph the Summer Drive-In during the morning. I used expired Kodak Portra 160 VC 4x5 film to obtain this desired image:
I made this into a lightbox, which is pretty dandy because of the effects of the projection of the light. Many responded to memories while looking at the blank screen. In turn, they have become the projector. Tommy "Screening" Kha |
